A tool ive been developing to help with maya’s terrible render layers and material assigning. Search-able material field. Reg-ex-esk wild card material assigning. Ability to export material assignments via text. The ability to work with only a few selected materials or all materials in the scene.
Need to add switchable render layers and assign by selection.
A fun an intuitive way of building a library. Export geos to a library location by using a top group node. The asset manager will take a snap shot and list all objects in a searchable index. Ability to import as reference from from the builder and is non destructive if you want it to be. This was used extensively on the mayans project.
Adding some clarity to saving files. EVERYONE MUST LEAVE DETAILED NOTES. I cant say how many times having notes on a file has saved my project. A simple tool set where you save/open your files to a pre-built folder structure, sets your maya project and gives you all the info you would need to track down who did what.
